The Island Packet 40 is a superior cruising yacht known for her excellent build and her very practical design.  She has plenty of storage and elbow room.  She will take you wherever your dreams may point - safely and comfortably.

Karaya, a 1995 Island Packet 40 is a modern cruiser - rugged and safe.  With her improved hull, keel, rudder shape and Cutter Rig, she performs well and is very comfortable in all kinds of conditions.  Her fiberglass hull features integral full foil keel and bow sprit that combined with a large spade rudder tracks and maneuvers well without sacrificing performance.  When the wind lays down, she is pushed by a 50HP, freshwater cooled, 4 cylinder Yanmar Diesel. Her interior is well thought out with 2 private staterooms, and two heads plus lots of storage space and plenty of elbow room.  Her cockpit is large enough for sailing, entertaining and napping.  Her sailing performance is enhanced with a Mast Head Cutter Rig that is easy to sail with both Genoa and Staysail on Furlers and a Mainsail with a Dutchman Sail Handling System and 2 Reefing Points controlled from the safety of the cockpit.  The IP40 is great for Chesapeake gunkholing or around-the-world cruising.  "Karaya" is well fitted for cruising.  Her very knowledgeable current and former owners have outfitted and properly maintained her over the years.  She is very clean and ready to follow your dreams.
